A young girl suddenly fainted in the Oval Office during a question-and-answer session that President Trump was having with reporters.

The 6-year-old child is a family member of Dr. Mehmet Oz, whom Mr. Trump had just sworn in Friday as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The girl appeared to faint and collapse while Mr. Trump was in the middle of answering reporters’ questions, causing the president to stop talking while his staff sought to clear the room. A livestream of the event was stopped.

Dr. Oz rushed over to the girl, and she immediately stood up but appeared unsteady.

A White House spokesperson confirmed minutes later that the girl fainted, adding, “We are happy to say she is OK.”
