National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is leaving his position along with his deputy, Alex Wong, according to reports.

The two were expected to be gone Thursday.

This ouster comes after Mr. Waltz inadvertently added Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, to a Signal group chat in March that discussed plans for bombing the Houthis in Yemen.

Mr. Goldberg published a story about finding out he was added to the chat and realizing it was real.

Also in the chat were Vice President J.D. Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

The administration denied that any classified information was shared in the group chat. However, Mr. Goldberg published some of the messages that included the time of the strikes.

Mr. Waltz later took responsibility for the incident, but President Trump stuck by him and didn’t ask anyone to step down.

The Washington Times reached out to the White House for comment on the decision, which was first reported by CBS News.
